There was an important study performed by optical component experts Schneider Kreuznach that verifies the capabilities of mobile phone photography. But realizing that it is their duty to provide a trouble free traffic besides ensuring the safety of the people who travel on the road, the Government of India has finally come forward with a proposal to amend the Motor Vehicles Act,1988.

According to the proposed amendments to be carried out in the Motor Vehicles act,1988,whose main purpose is to prevent the use of mobile phone by the people who are on their drive:-

1)Mobile phones should not be used by the people who are on the drive and it is a punishable offence;

2)Any one violating the provisions of this act, if found guilty, will be awarded with a punishment of six months imprisonment or will be imposed with a fine of Rs 2,000/- or both will be slapped on the offenders.

3)It is also proposed to cancel the driving license of the offenders.

The proposed amendments  to be introduced in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988,is a welcome step in the right direction and the Government has at last come forward with a concrete solution to a burning problem.

But the success of the proposed amendments to be introduced in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, depends upon its effective implementation.
