When do you need a reverse phone service?

If you want to find the name and location of the owner of a specific phone number (cellular or landline) and this number is not listed in whitepages or phone books, you will need a specialized reverse phone lookup service. These services operate by purchasing access to subscriber databases of various mobile operators and phone companies. By combining multiple sources of information, they provide users with a capability to search through a huge database containing almost all phone numbers in the USA. This database includes land line numbers, unlisted numbers and cell phone numbers.

Reverse phone lookup services are bound by agreements with phone companies, which prohibit them from providing this information for free (primarily for the reasons of privacy). This is the reason why you need a valid credit card or paypal account to register and use these services. This ensures that they cannot be utilized for illegal purposes (e.g. stalking.) Besides, phone companies charge for access to their databases in the first place, so reverse lookup services try to recoup some of their costs by requiring a subscription fee.

Are there any free alternatives to paid reverse phone lookup services?

If you don’t feel like using paid services, there are a few alternatives that may help. You may look up the number in publicly available whitepages or phone books, or use an internet search engine, such as Google or Yahoo. However, if the number in question is cell phone or unlisted, you search will most likely provide no results, because such information is not publicly available. It won’t hurt to try, though.

What kind of information you can expect to find using a cell phone lookup service?

You can expect to find the owner’s name and address. Some services also provide additional information such as the list of household members.

How to use a reverse phone lookup service?

Simply enter the phone number which you are researching into the online form. Most services will immediately provide the following information for free:

Whether the phone number in question is cellular or land line.

The precise location (city and state) where the number is registered.

Whether any additional information about this number is available.

To find the name of the phone’s owner, you will need to purchase access to the service (a nominal yearly fee is usually required). As mentioned above, the registration requirement is a way of ensuring the service will not be used illegally.

Are reverse phone lookup services legal?

Yes, cell phone lookup services are completely legal, provided you use the obtained information for lawful purposes. In particular, you are not allowed to take advantage of this information for making telemarketing calls.

Fortunately, the majority of the “bugs” of early internet phone service are no more and the few that remain-for the most part negligible and sometime avoidable with a little bit of careful reading and research. Originally, some of the greatest complaints of VoIP were clarity, lack of service, required contracts, and lack of 911 services. Today, Internet phone users have minimal if any clarity issues, there are many choices available without contracts (just take the time to read the fine print), 911 service is available-though it may be routed through the system differently but just as effectively- and with more cell phone towers being built in regions all over the world getting a signal and service is easy.

Now that you have had the fears dispelled, consider these positives of using Internet phone service:

1. Cost-VoIP has been shown to lower your monthly phone bill by over 50%.

2. With VoIP, you can call all across America, Canada and the territories without paying long distance charges. In addition, international calling rates are but mere pennies per minute.

3. You can count on your bill being the same price every month, making it easier on the budgeting process.

4. A long list of phone features such as voice mail, call forwarding, voice mail as e-mail attachments, 3 way calling, Caller ID and many other all included as part of your standard service.

5. VoIP works over your broadband connection, so you can make one less payment each month.

6. In business, Internet phone service often has web conferencing features, as well as services such as ring all or ring groups that allow multiple phones to ring at once ensuring that callers are answered.

7. Any changes in calling or services can be via the Internet bypassing the need to wait on hold with the phone company.

So, what is holding you back from making the switch to Internet phone service for your home or business? When you swap from traditional phone service to VoIP you are not only making a change toward the future of communication but are saving yourself time and money. Why not take the time to see what Internet phone service providers are recommended for your area and start enjoying VoIP today?

Most of the time, people agree to a contract with a mobile phone company to get a discounted cell phone that is available at the time. Another big reason for agreeing to sign a contract with a phone company is to prevent them from raising your monthly plan rates as an existing customer. But what if your mobile phone contract has left you stuck with poor service or you’ve just found a far better deal elsewhere? Getting out of a mobile phone contract can be pricey and difficult; after all, this contract is a legally binding document.

Fortunately there are some ways to get out of your mobile phone contract; hopefully one of these will allow you to break free of that 1 or 2 year ball and chain ‘agreement’.
Pay the termination fee – This is usually the fastest and easiest way out of a cell phone contract. Of course it is often the most expensive way too. Early termination fees often run a few hundred dollars, leave you with a locked and useless handset, and still leave you responsible to pay any money you may owe from services and fees before the termination is processed. If you are at the very start of your contract or the very end of the contract, it makes little financial sense to pay a few hundred dollars just to end up going to a new mobile phone contract elsewhere.

Let someone else foot the bill – Competition is steeper than ever in the mobile phone industry so every last customer a company gets to sign on with a contract counts. While rare, some offers come around where a competing cell phone company will agree to pay off your termination fee at your current service provider in return for you becoming their customer. These offers are likely to include longer contract agreements, may waive any handset discounts, and void any other sale prices or special offers.

Challenge the contract – A contract is a legally binding document and as such, both parties have agreed to certain rights and responsibilities. You agree to pay the rates and fees listed within your contract and in return the mobile phone company agrees to provide service, notification of rate changes, and anything else promised in the contract. If your cell phone company promised you good signal strength in your area but you’ve found the service to be terrible, you can try to challenge the contract. If you signed a contract for a 69.99 a month plan and suddenly without notice or an option to opt-out your bill jumps to 89.99 a month you could challenge the contract.

Keep in mind however that cell phone contracts are drawn up by legal teams of experts hired by the cell phone companies and you’ll want to closely review the terms of service and contract before signing or in the event you want to challenge the contract.

Sometimes simply threatening to call the Better Business Bureau can be enough to get a mobile phone company to back down and cut you a break. Even then however many companies will put exclusions in their contracts that prevent you from legally leaving the contract without penalty.

The above ways are the best and most common ways to get out of your mobile phone contract. Again if you are nearing the end of an existing contract, simply let the contract expire and you’ll be out for free. If you haven’t yet signed a contract and are wary of cell phone contracts, consider the cell phone service providers who offer pre-paid plans or plans without contracts but these may come with higher rates or smaller discounts. Always read a contract fully before accepting the terms and signing on the dotted line.

Reverse phone look up service is now among the most demanded and used service by people around the world. You can find lot of websites claiming to provide reverse phone look up service. But did they actually work? Yes they work but to use this service you need to find the suitable website which actually provides the service which they claim. Reason behind this is there are lots of websites which are making taller claims but are failed to provide services thus leaving users in a fix.

You can find two types of website in the market. First, websites which provide reverse phone look up service in free and second which provide paid services. Websites which provide free service are usually of poor quality, do not show adequate results. They claim to provide phone issuing locations along with other details which they usually don’t. I don’t think that I need to ask you to not to use these type of websites. On the contrary paid websites provide adequate details like location, exact addresses, owner’s name, line type, address history, geographic neighbors who are on similar telecommunications systems.

However not many paid websites provide all the information which they claim resulting in reducing trust on reverse phone look up service.
There are few websites in online world which gained popularity by providing excellent service and great customer service. “Reverse Phone Detective” is the no.1 reverse phone look up service in todays online world. This is the only reverse phone look up service which is a member of National Association of Investigative Specialists. Another most famous website in the market is “Phone Number Scan” which works in other countries than US. As till now this service was only available in US but phone number scan has made this service reachable to other countries also.

So now you know that selection of service provider is much important so that you can get full use of reverse phone look up service.

By this means, you can check the strength and weakness of each provider and thus you will be sure to opt the right one. Here are some of the most popular service providers you may require to see.

Preparing to Use Your Cell Phone While Traveling.

Your cell phone may be able to be used when you travel abroad. Since cell phones have become a part of our daily lives, leaving the cell phone at home when traveling may not be an option.

With roaming agreements between cell phone service providers, quad-band phones and cell phone network access nearly everywhere, your cell phone can be used nearly everywhere you travel.

An important thing to consider when using a cell phone abroad is cost. Although costs per minute are generally higher when using your cell phone outside your home country, there are ways to ensure that your cell phone bill stays relatively reasonable when traveling.

Ensure that your cell phone is a quad-band cell phone. There are four primary cell phone service signals used in the world, and a quad-band phone will work on each of them. Many cell phone makers produce quad-band phones and any cell phone service provider that offers international cell phone service access will sell at least one quad-band phone.

If are preparing to purchase a cell phone, ask the service provider which phone models are quad-band or if buying online, look at the cell phone specifications to see if the phone is dual-band, tri-band, or quad-band.

Place your SIM card into a quad-band phone. If your current phone is not able to function in the country you will be in, ask friends and family who use the same cell phone provider if you can swap cell phones for the travel period by placing your SIM card in their cell phone to take with you. They would take your cell phone and place their SIM card in it to use it while you are gone.

This ensures that when someone attempts to call you on your number, they will reach you and not the other person. The SIM card holds the user account information and the cell phone number connected to your account.

You may also be able to purchase or rent an inexpensive quad-band phone to use with your SIM card. Most phones are locked to one service provider, so you may need to locate a quad-band phone from your service provider.

Countries such as Japan and South Korea, according to an article on CNN.com, use 3G networks (that differ from GSM and other 3G networks) and many cell phones from other countries will not function there.

Check to see whether your cell phone service provider has roaming agreements in the countries to which you will be traveling. Companies such as AT&T and T-Mobile have
extensive roaming agreements. According to CNN, T-Mobile has more than 190 countries where roaming agreements are established.

Roaming agreements mean that customers of the cell phone service provider from another country have the ability to access the networks and cell towers in other areas that are owned by other cell phone service providers there.

Check the rates. It isn’t surprising to learn that using your cell phone abroad will cost a bit more than using your cell phone at home. After all, there are roaming fees (your cell phone company pays for access to other networks), connection fees and taxes to cover.

Plans with “anytime minutes” or free nights and weekends will often exclude those free minutes when using your phone abroad. Instead, you will be charged a per-minute fee based on the country you are in or the network you are accessing.

These fees generally apply to both incoming and outgoing phone calls made while your phone is in another country.

Use text messaging when possible. Overall, text messaging rates internationally cost less than the cost of a per-minute phone call. Text messaging can be an effective way to communicate with others in your travel group if you get separated and check in with those back home.

Check to see who is calling before you answer. You don’t have to shut your phone off when traveling, but don’t answer every single call unless it is crucial. Keep calls brief, and keep in mind that most cell phone plans will round up to the next minute. A one-minute and 3-second call will be billed as a 2 minute call.

Also keep in mind that checking your voicemail may count as a per-minute charge when using the phone abroad.

If you find that your cell phone or service provider plan won’t function in the country where you are going, you can usually purchase an inexpensive prepaid phone upon arrival. These can be good for emergencies or quick phone calls back home, and depending on use, may be more cost effective than calling cards.

Check before traveling to see whether your cell phone service provider offers service where you are traveling and also whether your cell phone will function there. Ask about rates and fees before leaving.

Do not use your data or Internet browsing plans on your cell phone while traveling. Data plan fees when traveling can be extremely expensive.

If you are using your cell phone or SIM card abroad and your cell phone service provider has roaming agreements set up where you are traveling, you usually do not have to dial the international country code. Simply selecting the person you want to call in your phonebook and selecting ‘Call’ generally works.

However if you are using a rental phone, pay phone, or phone other than your SIM card with cell phone you may need to dial the international country code before the rest of the number.

Using your cell phone while traveling abroad can be convenient but costly. Before you travel, you should check to see if your phone will work abroad and if it does what the rates are. The rates are always higher when using your cell phone abroad, often higher then roaming charges and fees.

Before you travel, contact your cell phone service provider to determine two things. One, you’ll want to make sure that your phone itself is a quad band phone. Quad band phones can operate anywhere in the world. Cell phone service providers operate on one of 4 bands, so a quad band phone is ideal to have if you travel often.

Secondly, you’ll want to ask if the cell phone service is available where you are traveling. Large cell phone providers often have agreements with other providers all over the world to allow their customers to use their cell phones on shared cell towers. Some companies only operate in one country or have little to no agreements or contracts with cell phone towers internationally.

If you’ve determined that your cell phone will function where you are traveling you’ll want to check the rates and fees. Some service providers may charge roaming fees, access fees, and more. If you are using your cell phone on a shared cell tower or network you might be charged fees by the other service provider in addition to your own provider.

Almost always the per minute fee applies to any calls made while abroad, if you have a family plan or shared minutes, these are generally not used on international calls. You may pay up to a few dollars a minute depending on your provider, what towers are being used, and where you use your cell phone.

Also keep in mind that rates may change depending on the day of the week or time. This time and day pricing may be set in your home time or in the local time, so check with your provider before leaving.

Text messaging if available is generally the best way to communicate with people back home on your cell phone. Text messages are usually under 50 cents a message to send and receive internationally. So you can save a good deal of money by communicating via text message.

As for data use such as accessing the internet on your cell phone, these rates can be extremely high so you’ll want to reconsider before checking your favorite website or e-mail on your cell phone while traveling.

You can avoid high bills on your cell phone while traveling by minimizing the length of time you talk on the phone. Most providers round up to the next minute, so if your phone call is at 1 minute and 1 second, you’ll get charged for 2 minutes, so use up closer to 2 minutes before hanging up. If you can keep your calls at 59 seconds or less, you can avoid being charged for more minutes.
Keep your phone off when not in use to avoid incoming calls that you may accidently pick up, only to realize you may now be facing a higher cell phone bill. If at all possible as mentioned earlier, use text messaging if available as it can be cheaper and more effective when using your cell phone abroad.

In today’s modern society, people need the telephone in order to communication with their family, friends, and also their business associates and clients. You have to consider the fact that the telephone is one of the most useful inventions ever made. Since Alexander Graham Bell produced the very first telephone, many people have now been using this kind of communication systems in order for them to communicate.

Today, the telephone system provides much better voice quality than the first telephone. Also, for additional payment, you will be able to get caller ID phones, call waiting, call forwarding, return call and even three way calling. Truly, the telephone is the best communication system ever invented.

The internet is also one of the most useful tools for communication. And, people now use the internet to talk to their loved ones overseas for free instead of using their conventional telephone. Besides, the internet can provide a way to talk to your family, friends and even your business associates for free and at a very fast rate. With webcams, it will enable you to see the person you are speaking to through the use of the internet and instant messengers.

If you want to send them a letter, you can do so with the email. The internet definitely takes people one step closer to the future of communication.

Today, another kind of communication technology is taking the world by storm. This particular communication system is growing more and more popular each day and many people are now considering replacing their conventional land line phones with this new breed of phone system. This particular technology is called VoIP.

First of all, VoIP works just like your conventional telephone. However, instead of transmitting voice data over wires, it takes advantage of the internet to transmit and receive voice data. This means that your voice is converted to digital signals and is transmitted to the internet. Since your voice is in digital format, what this means for communication is that it will be much clearer and much faster when it reaches the other end of the line. Also, since it uses the internet, communication is much cheaper than conventional landline phones.

With it, you can call your family, friends and even your business partners and associates overseas at a fraction of the cost compared to the cost that are found in conventional landline telephones.

Another great thing about VoIP is that it offers features such as three-way calling, audio conferencing, video conferencing, caller ID, return call, call waiting, call barring and other features as a standard package, which means it’s free unlike in conventional landline where you have to pay extra on your monthly bills for each extra service.

Today, there are quite a few existing VoIP service providers that offer their services. As you can see, VoIP is becoming more and more popular today. You should consider getting in touch with VoIP service providers in your area and ask about their services. You should consider subscribing in a service provider that is already serving a lot of people. With this service provider, you will know that there are many satisfied customers who are definitely getting value for their money.

Service providers differ in cost and services. Some charges installation and start-up fees, while others do not. Some offers great deals on free calls, while others charge the usual low-cost long distance and overseas calls.

Most service providers offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for testing purposes. With this option, you can try out their services and if you are not satisfied, you can claim a refund within the 30-day trial period. You can do this until you find a service provider in your area that offers high quality services and the best value for your money.

You have to remember that call waiting and other additional features should be included for free. If you find a service provider that charges for these kinds of services, you should consider looking for another service provider.

Consider that fact that it is still on its infancy. You should expect some hiccups in the services once in a while. However, in the near future, you can expect that the bugs will be fixed and fully functional and great quality VoIP will be available.
